About Us - Continued

With overseas influences and all the positive feedback here in Oz, I started lobbying for the inclusion of this class as an official sanctioned racing class. Of course rules had to be made, voted on and finalized – but after countless phone calls, emails and discussions with these powers that be, the wheels were in motion.

This new class was not brought about by only a single person, but by many. Clubs, officials and racers ALL had a hand in this and where it is today is from their support and culmination of efforts.

As these Trucks have developed so have specific racing engine sizes. While the high performance .21 buggy engine was the one to run, manufacturers have seen the upcoming success in the Truggy class as an opening to specifically redesign and ultimately produce, a larger capacity race performance engine, to propel our Trucks around the track like missiles.

Class rules in Australia initially capped engine size at .21 with a minor alteration - that if your truck came from the manufacturers as an “RTR” larger than .21, then that was accepted - while there are those individuals that lay claim to the prediction that eventually the larger capacity engines would be officially included, this was in actual fact on the table when the first rules were drafted, but like anything new, a small step at a time was required… although the argument was that overseas were running the bigger engines, it was an argument that was not sustainable here in Australia so early in the class development.

Today, however, with an increase in class support, and also a rethink... the prospect has successfully been voted in with a majority of Truggy racers wanting the larger engines included in our sanctioned rules.
